Lead Inspections for The Borough of Wildwood Crest

The Borough of Wildwood Crest has partnered with LEW Environmental Services to provide a comprehensive solution to ensure compliance with New Jersey’s Lead Safe Certification Act. Township records indicate one of your rental properties is impacted by this new law.

N.J.A.C. 5:28A Lead-Based Paint Inspections in Rental Dwelling Units

The new regulation is commonly referred to as the Lead Safe Certification Law. The new law states that rental homes in the Borough of Wildwood Crest built prior to 1978 are required to have a dust wipe sample analysis. The dust wipe analysis is to assess for lead hazards. The initial inspection must be completed at the next tenant turnover, or by July 2024. Whichever is sooner!

Based on the results of the dust wipe sample analysis, we will issue a lead safe certification to show compliance with the regulation. This certification will be valid for a two-year period.
