Is your rental property built before 1978?

If the original year of construction of your rental property is after 1978 you do not need a lead inspection. Please call our office or email info@njleadlaw.com to mark the property as exempt with your municipality.

Important Notice:
Please be aware that having your property renovated or rebuilt does not exempt you from this law. Click here to see the year of construction for your rental property.

Check to see if your rental property is exempt: NJ Lead Law for Rental Dwellings.

Add XRF testing?

If no lead is found via XRF the rental is designated as "Lead Free" and does not require additional testing in the future. Learn more

Step 3: Rentals and Contacts

If you are booking more than one unit and one of the units is owner occupied, you only need to have an inspection of the RENTAL UNIT. The unit that you are collecting rent on.

Example: If you own a 2-family home and the owner of the home resides on the 1st floor, but collects rent on the 2nd floor, the 2nd floor ONLY needs to be tested.” Not the 1st floor where the owner resides.” Should you have questions, please call our office.
